Bell’s ‘Chewing The Fat’ Is Back And Bigger Than Ever

Iris Bell, star of the one-woman show "Chewing The Fat," is taking her show to the Duplex Cabaret down in the Village on Friday, March 2.

Bell performed her show in February at the Amateur Night at the Apollo. She walked on stage with a black leather ensemble lined with rhinestones and a black velvet wrap and made a skeptical and cynical theatre audience stand up and cheer.

She launched into her 20-minute routine about how plus-size people act at a barbecue. She kept the audience rolling as she went through the very "worst" things that can happen to a plus-size gal at a soul food picnic.

During her "Chewing The Fat" show she will talk to the ladies and gents about being plus-sized, exercising, lovers, food, and being a "diva."

Show time is at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 with a two-drink minimum. The Duplex Cabaret is located at 61 Christopher Street, corner of 7th Avenue South and Christopher Street in Manhattan. Call for reservations.
