Chatting With Chapey Our Sympathies To The Locke Family It is with regret that I note the untimely passing of Leon Locke. I On Sunday, February 24, 2001, we attended the funeral services at the Parkside Chapel. Rabbi Joseph Weiss conducted the services. Rabbi Weiss pointed out that Leon and Susan had known each other since childhood. He said that Leon was a man of the community and that he was dedicated to the Rockaways. Rabbi Weiss John McLoughlin stated that Leon's One indication of the value of The Wave to the community is that people who move from the Rockaways to the four corners of the globe have The Wave sent to their new address. On another note, you should be aware that Thursday, March 15 is Hunger Awareness Day. It is startling to realize that one million six hundred thousand New Yorkers per month need to obtain food from food pantries, soup kitchens and other agencies that feed the hungry. The Hunger Action Network requests that every concerned person should The celebration of Hunger Awareness Day has been taking place on March 15 for 11 years in New York State.
