for larger version       Ortiz Wanted Although it’s almost two years since Robert Ortiz allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, the Arverne man remains at-large and continues to allude detectives from the 100 Precinct. In the early morning hours of November 14, 1998, Ortiz and his live in girlfriend became involved in an argument. According to the police, Ortiz erupted in anger, grabbing a knife and stabbing his girlfriend in the abdomen. The woman’s screams captured the attention of her mother, who also lived in the house. Police and EMS arrived in time to help Ortiz’s girlfriend, but the suspect was gone. Ortiz is a Hispanic 49-years-old male, 5’4’’ tall, and 145 pounds. His last known address was 517 Beach 64 street. There have been reports that Ortiz might have fled to Puerto Rico. Detectives learned in earlier this year that as little as a month prior to the alleged stabbing and assault, Ortiz contracted with a modeling agency and had several professional photographs taken. These photos reveal the many faces and disguises that Ortiz could possibly be using as he remains free from prosecution. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
