Shooting In Redfern

Brooks Is ‘Most Wanted’

In what police are describing as a possible drug buy gone bad, a 44 year old white male from Woodmere was shot in the stomach just around noon on Saturday, May 27, 2000 at 1270 Redfern avenue.

Witnesses to the crime have pointed detectives in the direction of Mustafa Brooks, a resident of 1270 Redfern avenue, who has a history with the 101 Precinct.

The victim, whose name is being held by police at this time, was transported to Jamaica Hospital where he remained in critical condition as The Wave went to press Thursday.

Anyone with information about this

crime is asked to call Detective Garvey at the 101 Precinct Detective Squad at 868-3429. Information about Brooks’ whereabouts can also be reported to the NYPD CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a "most wanted" fugitive from justice can result in a reward of up to $1,000. All calls can be kept confidential and all persons are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
