BCVFD Appoints Chaplain

Members of the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department were invited on April 9, 2000 to a special Sunday service at the Christ Presbyterian Church By the Sea. The inspirational service included the volunteers and church members participating in liturgy and church petitions. A special blessing was bestowed on the volunteers by the pastor, Reverend Andrea Zarou.

A nice touch to the service was the official swearing in of Reverend Zarou as chaplain of the fire department. Reverend Zarou is one to two chaplains the department has. She was officially appointed chaplain on January 30, 2000 and will work with Father Charles White to lead and guide the BCVFD.
