Police responding to the scene via a 911 phone call found Ventura, the mother of two small children, shot once in the head and dead at the scene at 1306 Bayport place.

According to 101 Precinct detectives, Louis Macfie, 20, who lived at the same address as the victim, has been arrested and charged with Ventura’s murder. A shotgun was recovered.

Police told The Wave that the victim and Macfie had an ongoing dispute over the loudness of radio music being played in the house and are working on the assumption that this dispute is what triggered the shooting.
