Teal Comes From Behind To Win

Superstars of the game were Steven Harrs, Jonathan Michaels, Andrew Harrs, Thomas Siederman and Sean Siederman.

Rockaway Mites Teal team showed heart, determination, and guts as
they came back from 3-0 and 5-2 defecates to defeat their cross-water
rivals 9-7.

After falling behind 3-0, the ever improving Jonathan Michaels got Teal on the scoring board with a slap shot from 20 feet away. Two minutes later, Sean Siederman scored his first of seven goals, which enabled Teal to cut the lead to 3-2 after the first period.

The second period featured the same fast pace action as the first. Teal's first line of Jason Perrone, Brain Woods and Michael Forcina, applied tremendous defensive pressure on Broad Channel and they helped set up Sean Siederman's third goal which made the score 5-3. Seconds after Sean scored, his cousin Thomas Siederman notched in his second goal in two games to make the score 5-4. The second period ended with a 5-5 tie thanks to splendid goal saving by Stephen Harrs.

This game was destined to come down to the wire. Thomas Gersh, Michael Brennan, Chris Forman, and Nathaniel Jean Pierre showed great hustle and teamwork and held their opponents scoreless on their lines. Andrew Harrs did an outstanding job in the third period taking over the goal tending duties from his brother Stephen. Sean Siederman provided the offensive punch by scoring four goals in the period to seal the victory.

Coach Jim Higgins was very proud of his teams determination and individually praised each member of the team when the game was over.
