Esther Levenson, Involved With RMAC

Esther Levenson, 86, died on Sunday, July 11, 1999. At the time of death, she was with her son Conrad, daughter Emily, and her family and friends.

Esther had reluctantly left her Neponsit home which had always been open to Rockaway Music and Arts Council for social functions and meetings.

Esther was known for being "down to earth" and helped all who needed assistance. She was a contributor to West End Temple, RMAC, and the United Choral Society. She was married to Sam Levenson, the well known humorist and founder of RMAC.

Robert Bermudez Of Rockaway

Funeral services for Robert Bermudez were held July 16 at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home, Inwood. Robert lived in the Rockaways, having attended PS 225 and JHS 180. He died July 11, 999.

Robert is survived by son Robert jr.; mother Yvonne and predeceased by his father Felix; he is also survived by brothers Monty, Anthony and Brent; sister Cheryl; grandparents Felix and Petra, Vera Ayers and Levan Brown Lee; many aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends.

Final arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home Inc. of Inwood, New York.

Roland David Fitchett,
World War II Vet

Funeral services for Roland David Fitchett were held July 16 at the Chatmon & Benson Funeral Home, Inwood.

Roland, known by many as Pop-Pop, served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed history and mechanics. He died July 13, 1999.

He is survived by son David Fitchett jr., grandchildren Brian Grace and Rose Lawson; adopted daughters Helen, Karen, Leslie, and Kelly; and many other relatives and friends.

Final arrangements were entrusted to the Chatmon & Benson Funeral Home of Inwood, New York.

Elise Trentecoste Of Rockaway Park

Memorial mass for Elise Trentecoste was held July 20 at St. Camillus Church, Rockaway Park. The widow of Jack, Elsie was a Rockaway Park resident. She died July 16, 1999. Elise is survived by sons Anthony and Salvatore and daughters, Susan and Maria Chin.

Final arrangements were entrusted tot he Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home Inc. of Rockaway Beach.
