Local Hero

Dear Editor:

Howard Schwach's May 8, "Rockaway Short Takes" column attacked Chris Jorge based on what he assumed she might have said. This is unfair. Chris Jorge is working in JHS 180, in a free after school program funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development, that was received and
implemented because of the tireless work of Chris Jorge. RAA would not look for someone else to fill the role acquiring and implementing their after school program because they (we) do not believe anyone else could do as good a job. Mr. Schwach would do well to speak to the issues confronting this community and cease his constant personal attacks. They not only diminish Mr. Schwach but The Wave as well.
